Success in the industry: Taking opportunities that come your way

Updated: Sep 24, 2021

In today's industry there are more dancers and performers now than there was 5 years ago. With so many dancers trying to make it into the industry sometimes it can feel daunting after one graduates from High School or College to enter into such a tough world.

Many dancers enter the performing arts industry with the bare basic knowledge of how the industry works and how to make a good first impression.

Dancers and performers struggle day in and day out trying to get the job and most give up their dreams after a year of trying to get that big paying job.

Professionals and Dance Educators should enter a studio wanting to teach and educate the next generation on how import ones work ethic is to succeeded in this industry and inspire dancers and performers to not give up when they don't get the big job straight away and to take every opportunity that comes their way with both hands, be it professional or amateur, paid or unpaid, they should look at every opportunity as a way to build up a strong Resume/CV and performance reel.

Not every great performer had the carpet rolled out for them at auditions or just handed a role before auditions even started, they worked harder in all their classes and took any opportunity as they come rare and far in between. they also network with those around them until they achieved their dream role or job either onstage or film.

Remember at the end of the day no opportunity is a wasted opportunity, you never know who some else may know.
